I am experiencing the same issue with Ubuntu 18.04 and kubeadm v1.16.1:

kubelet-check] The HTTP call equal to 'curl -sSL http://localhost:10248/healthz' failed with error: Get http://localhost:10248/healthz: dial tcp 127.0.0.1:102

and the output gave me some advises:

This error is likely caused by:
    - The kubelet is not running
    - The kubelet is unhealthy due to a misconfiguration of the node in some way (required cgroups disabled)

If you are on a systemd-powered system, you can try to troubleshoot the error with the following commands:
    - 'systemctl status kubelet'
    - 'journalctl -xeu kubelet'

after journalctl, I got the failed message:

kubelet[27956]: F1014 19:15:43.743985 27956 server.go:271] failed to run Kubelet: failed to create kubelet: misconfiguration: kubelet cgroup driver: "cgroupfs" is different from docker cgroup driver: "systemd"

from k8s-on-raspbian.

Intro

Alexellis, thank you for your work. I appreciate you love for documentation and I admire you that you have documented all the steps.

I have the same issue but would like to provide additional/better formatted data.

Expected Behaviour

When configuring the master node,
sudo kubeadm init --token-ttl=0 should succeed.

I tried applying sed replacements described in
https://github.com/alexellis/k8s-on-raspbian/blob/master/GUIDE.md#initialize-your-master-node when the .yaml files are generated.

Current Behaviour

Unfortunately, an error has occurred:

It stays at this point. I use sudo kubeadm reset to reset the installation.

Possible Solution

I don't know. 😄
Maybe I should somehow delay [kubelet-check]

Running into the same problem on Ubuntu 16.04 with v1.15.0. Also, internet does not work after kubeadm init.

See my recommendation to use k3s in the main readme.

I'd encourage you to raise an issue with kubeadm in the meantime. https://github.com/kubernetes/kubeadm

I am experiencing the same issue with Ubuntu 18.04 and kubeadm v.1.15.3

I made sure that the port is open (with "sudo ufw allow 10248/tcp"), but still the same happens.

Note: I am using plain Kubernetes, not Kubernetes on Raspbian, but just found this issue when I searched for this error.
So I guess, it's a general problem with Kubernetes and not something Raspbian-specific.

Please try k3s which is designed to accommodate and tested on RPi.

This repository is for Kubernetes on Raspbian, I would not expect CentOS and other distributions to work out of the box since they are not tested.

For technical support on kubeadm please join the Kubernetes Slack, PRs are welcome.
