The application id is not set message was alerting you to a configuration setup step which previously needed to be done. This step is no longer needed if you configure the Alexa Trigger in AWS Lambda properly. regarding the other error message, I believe this issue has been addressed as it sounds like the unhanded function error reported elsewhere. You can try to continue with this sample, switch to new version that uses the updated SDK, or use the Serverless Application Repository to set your backend function up.
