What occurred during this log?
Can you show the code you are using?
from ane-branchio.
During this log, I have opened my app using the link:
https://rummy-world.app.link/?FollowMe=10452656
when the app opens, I do:
Branch.instance.addEventListener( BranchEvent.INIT_FAILED, init_failedHandler );
Branch.instance.addEventListener( BranchEvent.INIT_SUCCESS, init_successHandler );
Branch.instance.initSession();
and I now expect the BranchEvent INIT_SUCCESS\INIT_FAILED to be thrown with the FollowMe param. sometimes it works, sometimes its not working, like in the log I have sent.

Any News on that ?

guys, i have been working about 2 months on some new viral features using the branch library.
the android app is working properly, but the the ios app is experiencing the above issue.
PLEASE ASSIST ME HERE
its driving me crazy here :(
I have also wrote to branch support, we have come to the point where they want to know this:
"the codes of Initialize Branch that you need to add into your main Activity.java (usually, LauncherActivity.java) from your Android app. Can you please give us that?"
can you please send it to me (possible via mail to [email protected])
Thanks a lot for your support

This is my ios settings on the branch Dashboard
I use Universal Link
from ane-branchio.
and a few more hopefully useful facts:
-
when I open the app directly (not using a link on my gmail app) i DO get the branch event after the init:
branch init_successHandler data== {"+clicked_branch_link":false,"+is_first_session":false} -
when I open using a link, I usually not getting the event.
On those cases, i have tried calling: Branch.instance.getLatestReferringParams() later on,
and the object i get is also empty and not containing the params. -
when the app is already open on my iPhone, and I click the link, I DO get the branch event successfully with the right params.
-
on the first post here I have attached the device log when I am opening the app using the link and getting the branch event after the init.
-
I am testing the ios app, with development mode & debugging mode.
Thanks Again

Hi,
Please be patient, this is a community project we overtook so we will help out as much as possible.
Can you show us the info additions / entitlements section you are using in your application descriptor? Have you setup universal links for you app, or are you relying on uri scheme?

It's listed as opensource on our site, along with the other opensource ANEs we contribute to.
Please post files using github, they won't work as attachments.

Can you try this build for us:

from ane-branchio.
off course, I am on it
from ane-branchio.
Michael, it is working !
HALLELUJAH !!!
I complied with this build
Made "Universal Link" enabled again
Uploaded to TestFlight
and, very important on apple devices: I have deleted and clear safari history and content
(when you test a lot on a device, safari get a lot of junk stuck)
One thing:
On first launch only, I do get the Branch init Event with the right parameters from the link,
but when I call: getLatestReferringParams()
I get an empty object, that is without the parameters from the link , and without branch's params.
(this is not critical for me, but I think you should know)
Thank You so Much !!
from ane-branchio.
Glad to hear! I'll look into the params issue as well.
from ane-branchio.
I can't seem to replicate that issue. Are you calling getLatestReferringParams()
after the init success event, or before?

from ane-branchio.
yeah will look into that next, and get the android sdk updated too.
