It is a false alarm. The problem only occurs when our core bundle is active. For some reason, which I don't know yet, there is probably a conflict.
I am closing the ticket.

I have found the problem, for the sake of completeness here my findings, maybe it will help someone:
We have implemented a custom injector in our core bundle. This injector was used when the ValueMap "requestInputs" was injected via the "@Inject" annotation in the ManagedProcess.java class. As documented in [1], the @Inject annotation can lead to unpredictable results, and this was the case for us.
