I have seen a similar issue. The workaround that works for me is if I click on "Terminal" and it is blank, I click on "Visualize" and then exit that straight away. When I exit the "Terminal" area is populated correctly.

I am having the same problem in Chrome that UserSud describes. My environment is Chrome 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit) running on a Mac with O/S High Sierra 10.13.6.
In Safari, the terminal works and I can Run a simple 2 line app (print and exit()).
When I attempt to Debug that app and Step Over the first line, the "spinning beachball" wait cursor appears and the debugger never makes it to the next line. Terminal also stops working.
Is it possible to restart the webIDE server on the Pi without a reboot?
Other info:
- in /usr/share/adafruit/webide the files combined.log, error.log, and output.log are empty, as is the logs subdirectory.
I, too, am grateful for all the work that's gone into this!
Let me know if being a beta tester is an option. I'd be happy to be of help in getting webIDE debugged.

I have the same issue in a clean install on both chrome and firefox. i have installed clean 5-6 times the alpha branch is working fine. is there an easy way to upgrade alpha to 0.8.0? that may work

New user here, just installed this via the curl command 20 minutes ago. I have the same issue. The "Visualize" trick works for me. I also have the debug issue as described above.
Win 10 box with Chrome Versions:
-Version 72.0.3626.121 (Official Build) (64-bit)
-Version 73.0.3683.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Going to poke around and see if I can see any logs.
Edit: No logs anywhere to be found like bitboy13.
