We also think that discussion using the issues tracker is profitable.
But, it is also important to keep backlog as small and manageable as possible.
Therefore, we have a policy of discussing in ML before making feature issues.

For your reference, we have the following plans about Antikythera.

• Metrics reporting
  • Antikythera monitors some metrics and notify it if necessary.
• Time-series DB
  • Antikythera offers timeseries component that provides common and simple functionalities for timeseries data management.

I would investigate using https://m3db.github.io/m3/integrations/prometheus/ with the industry standard of Prometheus metrics.

There are several systems that can provide output to Prometheus.

If you want to build the TSDB from scratch, http://www.vldb.org/pvldb/vol8/p1816-teller.pdf is what M3 is based on.

We have already started to implement our own TSDB with reference to this paper.
However, some functions depend on our internal systems, so we plan to remove them before releasing them as OSS.
