You raise a very good point, but I'm of two minds about this. I think, at this point, I'm less interested in transmitting detailed state and more interested in providing absolute paths for RESTful web services. Check out the Gowalla sample in this repo for an example.
Have you looked at the design docs for Nimbus' forthcoming router? It might be a lot closer to what you're looking for. Check it out at jverkoey/nimbus#10 and let me know. If yes, super. If not, let's see what we can do here.
Thanks!

Most of the use-cases for this (the ability to persist very detailed state) would work very hard with a regular NSString for the apiPath. Especially for nested resources.
albums/34/photos/44/comments/1
{album => 34, photos => 44, comments => 1}
Any thoughts on this?

@seivan - please check out the commit I just pushed up. apiPath is still a string, but your view controllers can now optionally receive a parsed NSDictionary of values from the routing URL.
To use your example above, if you were to -navigateTo
@"/albums/34/photos/44/comments/1"
, your subordinate view controller's properties would be set to:
apiPath: @"/albums/34/photos/44/comments/1"
parameters: {albumID: 34, photoID: 44, commentID: 1}
Assuming, of course, that your original route was configured as:
@"/albums/:abumID/photos/:photoID/comments/:commentID"
from abrouter.
