Morning! The follow example works fine for me..

import commandLineArgs from 'command-line-args'

const optionDefinitions = [
  { name: 'num-max', type: Number }
]
const options = commandLineArgs(optionDefinitions)
console.log(options)

Usage:

$ node example.mjs --num-max 2
{ 'num-max': 2 }
