Just make sure you created a slider container (and at least one pane) in the context where you like to have a slider.
The viewlet for the slider is loaded in the plone.abovecontenttitle manager, so it should be displayed on pages where this manager isn't hidden.
This may cause your problem: Currently the slider is not shown if you have defined a default page. I'll fix this soon.
