Yes, let's reopen. Sorry about it.

Another option would be to decide on a centralized place to be a bottleneck for switching UIs. That way we don't have to invent 2^N UI->UI connections. E.g. we could either use the Control Panel
to switch UIs, or use a "default UI" like a JupyterLab launcher window or something. Would that make sense?
I also think that being able to choose the UI from the login page, and for users to choose their own default UI, would help a lot. In my experience people don't often fluidly switch between UIs, but for some content they may prefer RStudio and others JupyterLab etc. So I don't know that it needs to be extremely easy to quickly switch UIs, just possible and predictable.

We now have the configurator 🚀 so we can consider this one resolved 🎉

I think this one is aimed toward changing the UI on the fly once you have already launched a pod, maybe?

I'm encountering something like today on the demo hub. After using Launcher to go to Rstudio I was confused about how to get back. It launches a new tab (so just switching tabs would work), but I tried hitting the "Logout" link on the top right of Rstudio. That tried to take me to https://demo.2i2c.cloud/hub/auth-sign-in
which gave a 404 Jovyan moons message. I guess I expect it to go to the Launcher window (which I think of as the "frontdoor"), but https://demo.2i2c.cloud/hub/home
would also make sense.
